FOTON says it sold more than 50,000 vehicles in August 2026. In a company update listed on its website on September 5, the manufacturer reported year-on-year growth of 38.6% in August exports and 50% in new-energy vehicle sales. These are FOTON's reported results, not sales by Foton International Ltd. Original company update.

Three figures, three different measures

The update puts August exports at more than 20,000 vehicles and August new-energy vehicle sales at nearly 12,000. The figures describe different categories: exports concern overseas shipments, while new-energy sales concern a vehicle category. The announcement does not establish that all of the new-energy vehicles were exported. FOTON source.

Retain the manufacturer's rounded wording when comparing the figures. “More than” and “nearly” do not provide exact totals, and an August growth rate should not be treated as a year-to-date rate.

What this means for a buyer

The following is editorial interpretation. A manufacturer's sales update offers company-level context; it does not establish which configuration will suit an individual transport task. A buyer comparing proposals should keep the operating requirement and supporting product documents alongside the commercial offer.

In particular, a group-wide sales increase is not a stock list or delivery commitment. Confirm the proposed vehicle, equipment and delivery basis directly with the supplier. Our export quotation information guide provides a starting point for that discussion.
